Magnus Tony K and everyone else who was interested in a different community channel: https://www.reddit.com/r/thoughtly Just got this setup and will start to really promote in within the next few weeks. Let me know if you're interested in being a moderator 🙂
Oh that's awesome that you created one. I actually just created one for my own business but I decided to do it a little differently. My thoughts are, if I could name my subreddit a really general name (SEO optimized keyword if you will) I'd get (maybe) more Discovery potential and more members could potentially join and then I could steer them to my service. You should create an extra subreddit just in case called r/AIVoiceAgents or something. Just in case.
Interesting. I like that idea 👀 Once we get enough members and chatter in the r/thoughtly community, I think we can start making a few more like that
I think you need to close Slack to get people over to Reddit. Right now there are only two posts. Yours, Torrey Leonard, and mine regarding something discussed during the last call where Tony Q (which apparently has another name here so I can't tag him) needed something to bring in car dealer info into his agents.
Well some people are commenting that Slack is better, so you may need to help me gather some support for Reddit
At Reddit? One person - Shane. He is joking.
Haha maybe so
Either way, I need help getting more people posting in there
Sure, use Slack and realize that you will have to answer the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again since that is how social media based communities work. The message fade away and the structure is close to zero.
That includes Discord, Slack, Facebook groups etc etc
I literally tested my website articles and just published them all on Reddit. None of my articles from my website's rank at all. But every time I copy and paste them onto Reddit, and then search for keywords, I get Reddit in my search results lol my exact same article that I published myself! Hahah
I am not a big fan of reddit, probably because I hardly ever use it. 🙂 I DO suggest a regular forum instead, e.g. phpBB which is free. You can build a structure of the discussions and they just stay there, easy to search for and find and messages doesn't just fade away like with social media based communities.
I think a regular forum is very similar to a subreddit, so it gets the same job done well
I am the member of several Discord channels . I have been a admin/mod there too. It's just colors and icons that makes it look sexy. Functionality wise it sucks, in my humble opinion. 🙂
Hmmm... I honestly can't think of a better Community tool. And if thoughtly builds out their own forum Community, it likely won't have any mobile notifications. I think that will be the downfall of it. Communication tools must have notifications through mobile notifications. That I feel certain about.
Torrey Leonard A regular forum builds YOUR domain's strength, not Reddits. It associates your domain with a rich amount of content that othesr create. Reddit builds Reddit's strength and they are in control.
Like not having mobile notifications is an absolute massive Community killer.
Luckily, it's not my decision, but if it was, I would definitely avoid social media based communities. They contribute with very little and sooner or later you will find yourself answering the same old questions that has already been answered. A regular forum can be structured in several ways and the answered questions are there forever. It's a time saver.
Just look here. Easy. How many have reported the same bugs? How many have asked a certain question? There is a plethora of such examples here.
I honestly never thought about using Reddit as a community platform for SAAS support... That could be interesting.
But sure. Reporting bugs here is also a nightmare because there are never any feedback or status messages from the Thoughtly team (no offense, Torrey Leonard and the team). Reporting a bug here is like a Black Hole. Everything goes in and nothing comes out, except some fixes here and there.
The deal with this type of category is that so many people are doing so many unique and different things. I bet it's really hard for the team to keep up
...and Torrey Leonard, if you read your messages, even emails, you would already know this. It's just that you seem not to.
Why is no company/enterprise using social media based support functions? There you have it!
if I'm being super duper honest here, I think the whole automation feature complicates the whole platform. The thoughtly team should just focus on supporting zapier, make, and pabbly integrations... Not build their own entirely. And then just focus more on the core of the product making it better and more perfect
I couldn't agree with you more. I also want the team to be able to focus even more on developing the actual features, not answering the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
But again 🙂 , it's not my decision. 🙂
Torrey Leonard Just as a few examples... My ambition is not that anyone should feel criticized. It's not them doing wrong, it's because of the lack of a good tool. Slack sucks! If you want to be able to find messages older than three months, you have to pay. Reported multiple times due to this sucky social media based community platform: Multiple voices set as favorites: https://thoughtlyhub.slack.com/archives/C08D0TG74QP/p1742180571454539 https://thoughtlyhub.slack.com/archives/C08D0TG74QP/p1740261666838069 https://thoughtlyhub.slack.com/archives/C07MULDFH6F/p1739504242471439 I know that I have reported this too a long time ago, maybe around 3+ months ago or so. That actually made my ponit - I used the search but I couldn't find it. LOL! Google Sheets integration: https://thoughtlyhub.slack.com/archives/C07Q7NC7HKQ/p1742054944682859 https://thoughtlyhub.slack.com/archives/C07Q7NC7HKQ/p1739313573088729 https://thoughtlyhub.slack.com/archives/C07Q7NC7HKQ/p1742059357498989?thread_ts=1742054944.682859&cid=C07Q7NC7HKQ https://thoughtlyhub.slack.com/archives/C08D0TG74QP/p1739598852913839 https://thoughtlyhub.slack.com/archives/C07Q7NC7HKQ/p1735847926583219?thread_ts=1735845872.518159&cid=C07Q7NC7HKQ These are just a few examples. Most of them could have been avoided. Not all.
Choosing a good tool, should be as natural as this. Yet it's not 🙂
