Confusion Over Credit Usage Reset on Monthly Billing Cycle

·
·

ALERT, ALERT, ALERT!!!! I am not sure that everyone knows about this but I recently inquired about why my usage is not starting from 0 on a 30 day billing cycle or monthly cycle. This is the response I received ": "The credits don't reset to 0, the credits fall off every day based on past usage 30 days ago. So if you used 1000 credits 30 days ago, your credit usage would go down 1000 credits today." 💥🤯 The way I interpret this makes no sense. Nowhere is this documented that usage will roll over from a prior cycle as long as it is within a 30 day period because usage is on a rolling 30 day period, not a billing cycle. That's like using your credit card for $4000 one month out of a $5000 limit, you pay the entire balance before the statement closing date, let's say May 28th, and the statement closes on May 30th, but because you had a large purchase of $2000 within 2 weeks prior to the statement closing date, come June 1st of your new billing cycle you only have $3000 to spend until the $2000 transaction 'falls off' after 30 days . That is totally ridiculous! Since my credit replenishment is on a 30 day cycle, why wouldn't my usage be on a 30-day cycle as well? Unused credits don't roll over, so why does usage roll over? 😡 If that is the case then unused credits should also be rolled over. Maybe nobody else feels the same but this sounds like a rip-off to me so I'm bringing it to everyone's attention.

Andrei Byfield I’m not sure what the alert is for, but if you want to have a specific renewal date, you can always buy a paid plan. Having rolling-credit usage allows those with AppSumo credits the ability to plan/schedule months out easily. For example, if you have a campaign every month on the 15th, credits will always be available by then. We have an open ticket for your request, so feel free to continue chatting there!

I have AppSumo credits. 7,500 each month, which is not on a rolling basis. You can't have usage on a rolling basis and credit replenishment is not on a rolling basis. This is straight from AppSumo: ================================================== Credits System How are credits calcualted? can you provide some details on how often you refresh credits? Founder Team Carlos_Thoughtly Nov 26, 2024 A: Credits refresh monthly for the lifetime of your account, and your dashboard updates every minute to show accurate usage. They’re substracted in real-time: 10 credits/minute for calls, 8 credits/message for SMS, and 500 credits/month per phone number. Unused credits don’t roll over to the next month. ==================================================== If you calculate it based on what you are saying, my credits do not refresh. I only have a 7,500 credit limit until one of the charges drops off depending on if it is within a rolling 30-day period. How is that a fair approach? Everything should refresh within a 30-day period. The way your are doing it, if I use up my 7,500 credit within a 30day period, the next time my credits refresh it won't be available because it hasn't fallen off yet.

I want to continue here because I want to make sure everyone understand the process in case there is anyone else who is not aware of this.

Ok so let me get this straight. Just want to make sure I understand. What you are saying then is that if I am billed for argument's sake $50 each month for 3000 credits, I only will have unused credits for the following month based on my usage within a 30-day period. So technically what I am paying for is a 3000 credit limit each month, because I won't necessarily have access to the entire 3000 credits that I supposedly paid for until it falls off after 30 days since that usage will be deducted from the 3000, correct?

If you are billed each month, that means you have a subscription. The date you setup your subscription becomes your reset date each month.

I asked that question if it could be because I canceled the billed subscription and just stuck with the App Sumo credits. If that was answered then all of this could have been avoided.

I actually tried to re-subscribe to test my theory and the Checkout button remains grayed out

However, that is a different concern. I'll look into the subscription further. I appreciate the clarification. I just wish this was stated earlier. I also appreciate you hashing it out because I really needed to get to the bottom of it and provide some transparency as it is not explicitly called out in the documents. Thank you.

The checkout button will only be grey if you don't select an amount of credits for your plan. Make sure that it's not the same as your existing plan.
